Una última vez (One last time)

This version of "Las Meninas" was inspired by the movie "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows". This is a moment captured before the scene where Bill and Fleur's wedding takes place.They all gathered for one last time, celebrated, danced and had fun, before confronting the dark forces of Lord Voldemort. According to the story in the books, a lot of the characters present in this captured moment will die in the battle against the Dark Lord. In this picture where everyone is dressed in their best apparel, one could almost feel the intensity between the characters, as if they knew that this was the last time they will be among each other. The focal point of this moment frozen in time, is the grief of those looking at each other as well as the intensity of each one who stares at the unknown viewer and the anger in their eyes, feeling what's about to come. Each and everyone's emotions are trapped into their own gaze, leaving the viewer with mixed feelings of joy, sadness, anger and in some way, relief. A final quote of Dumbledore -I find fitting the mood of this captured moment- concerning Harry's inability to overcome his grief of of his uncle's Sirius Black's loss: "Do not pity the dead Harry, pity the living and above all, those who live without love."
